If you’re looking to party in your yard, the Lay-Z-Spa Paris is your ticket to relaxation and fun. It’s designed to fit two adults comfortably, and has the added bonus of built-in LED lighting, helping to create the perfect ambience for chilling out after a hard day’s work, or for setting the mood during date night. As we explain further into our Lay-Z-Spa Paris review, this is also one of the cheapest models in the brand’s range, making it a go-to for many couples searching for one of the best inflatable hot tubs (opens in new tab) on a smaller budget.
Fitting four people comfortably, and up to six at a tight squeeze, the Lay-Z-Spa Paris comes with all the accessories you’d expect from a more premium tub, ensuring you feel thoroughly rejuvenated and refreshed after every dunk. No inflatable can rival the very best hot tubs (opens in new tab) in terms of sheer power and performance, but the Paris undoubtedly offers a big dose of fun (and romance) for less.
You can control the color-changing LED lights from a remote control and ensure you’re thoroughly heated head to toe by making use of the easy temperature control. In our Lay-Z-Spa Paris review, we look at the tub’s spec, design and features, and see what existing customers have to say about it. Bestway Lay-Z-Spa Paris review: Overview
Thanks to 140 AirJets and a digital display control panel to adjust the temperature at the tap of a finger, the Lay-Z-Spa Paris dishes out well-maintained heat and massaging bubbles for an all-round relaxing experience. The Paris looks just as attractive on the outside too, and throw in those LED lights and you have a tub just waiting to be the center of a backyard party.
The Lay-Z-Spa Paris is designed with three durable DuraPlus layers, so it should last longer than its cheaper rivals. You also get a lot of accessories in the box with this one, so you’ll be up and running – and covered to take care of your spa for the long run – straight away. While it might not be a rival for our top pick, the Coleman SaluSpa (opens in new tab), there’s a lot to like about the Lay-Z-Spa Paris. Let’s take a closer look now…
Bestway Lay-Z-Spa Paris review: Design
● MSRP: $905
● Size: Four to six people
● Dimensions: 27.95” x 77.1” x 94.8”
● Weight: 87.21lbs or 1,851lbs with water
● Material: DuraPlus (polyester and PVC)
● What’s included: Filter cartridge, inflatable lid, AirJet pump with freeze shield, liner, top cover, ChemConnect, exterior liner cover.
Internally constructed from DuraPlus material, the round, white design is as chic as it is durable, reinforced with three layers of polyester mesh and PVC. This means the Lay-Z-Spa Paris won’t lose its shape the more it’s inflated and deflated like a basic paddling pool would, and should still retain a smooth and soft feel against your skin.
We think the built-in cup holders for your drink of choice are a fun addition, but don’t expect any built-in headrests here. For those, read our Intex PureSpa Portable Bubble Jet Spa review (opens in new tab). The Lay-Z-Spa Paris also has a leatheroid protector cover to battle debris, keeping your water free from leaves and other nuisances. Reinforced with safety lock clips for peace of mind, the cover also helps lock in heat through a built-in insulating air chamber. This should help the water remain at a blissful 104 Fahrenheit.
For an even greater level of temperature control, the lid and air pad protector also work to keep the temperature steady even when the spa is switched off, so you won’t have to twiddle your fingers too long waiting for it to return to its original temperature whenever you fancy a dip. But remember, the biggest benefit of the Lay-Z-Spa Paris, and other inflatable hot tubs, is portability. Simply pick a new spot in your yard, empty, deflate, and re-assemble it as you please.
Bestway Lay-Z-Spa Paris review: Features
Soak in what Lay-Z-Spa describes as a “cloud of bubbles”, created by 140 all-surround AirJets. While they’re not as high-powered as some of the jets in premium tubs like the Intex PureSpa Greywood Deluxe (opens in new tab), they are still gently massaging. Also helping you feel warm and cozy, the rapid heating system reaches water temperatures up to 104 Fahrenheit, and uses smart technology to simultaneously run the massage system and filter water with just the pump, all controlled from a touch digital display.
Convenience at the core of the Lay-Z-Spa Paris, the multi-color LED lighting system is also controlled from a remote, so you can decide from the comfort of the tub. Take your pick from seven colors or set it to auto color change mode. Either way, your jazzy-looking hot tub is sure to be the envy of all your neighbors.
Despite being a more affordable pick, the Lay-Z-Spa Paris still has some premium features, including the ChemConnect ground detection system, and built-in Freeze Shield technology designed to kick into action if the water temperature drops below 40 Fahrenheit. Meanwhile, the energy-saving timer switches off the tub while it’s not in use, helping you save on running costs.
Bestway Lay-Z-Spa Paris review: How to use it
Handily, the Lay-Z-Spa Paris doesn’t overcomplicate things when it comes to the set up. Guided by set-up video tutorials, the tub only takes 10 minutes to assemble and one to two hours to fill with water, depending on water pressure. You fill it using the pump provided, so there’s no need to dig through your garden gear. Here’s what Bestway recommends:
Bestway Lay-Z-Spa Paris review: Support and user reviews
There are a handful of reviews on Lay-Z-Spa website for the Paris inflatable hot tub. These are mostly 5 out of 5 stars and commend the easy set-up and temperature control, remarking that the Lay-Z-Spa Paris is easy to use and clean. On The Range’s website, there’s a similar reaction, with users giving mostly 5 out of 5 stars and praising its good value for money. “The lights are a bit fiddly to install and to get flat, but well worth the effort,” says one user.
Across the board, the winning feature for most users seems to be the multi-color changing lights and generous bubbles. On the downside, some users note that the jets can be noisy, and others say they don’t deliver the same level of massage you get from higher-powered jets from other brands. Most users also agree that fitting over four people would be an incredibly tight fit, unless two are children.
Either way, the Lay-Z-Spa Paris provides customer care on a dedicated website. If the FAQs don’t answer your question, the support team promises to respond to queries submitted through the message form within two to three days. There’s also a phone number available for calls Monday through Friday, 9am to 5pm or on Saturdays between 9am and 1pm.
Should you buy the Bestway Lay-Z-Spa Paris?
If you’re after a high-powered massage experience, the Lay-Z-Spa Paris’ gently massaging bubbles may not be powerful enough for you. When it comes to appearance, however, this chic-looking inflatable has it sorted with calming color-changing LED lights teaming together with the bubbles to create a pretty good all-round relaxing experience. Plus, reinforced by durable material, the Lay-Z-Spa Paris is easy to assemble and fill.
We’d recommend the Lay-Z-Spa Paris to anyone who wants to take their first dip into a purchase or for anyone who wants the benefits of premium features for an affordable price.
